The aim of this manual is to inform postgraduate research students on the management of postgraduate research in the faculty of business and economics, and provide relevant guidance concerning the services available aimed at enhancing the postgraduate research student experience in FBE. It includes an introduction to the Postgraduate Office, information on the student support services available in FBE and guidance covering all aspects of the postgraduate research student experience from registration through to the award of a degree. The manual should be read in conjunction with the core regulations governing the relevant degrees, which have been prepared in the light of the best practice recommended by USP.
Some of the official information in these guidelines is taken from the Postgraduate Research Handbook for inclusion here, to which students can refer for further clarification whenever he/she has questions about procedures relating to their degree. This document is written from the perspective of our Faculty of Business and Economics and informs FBE students of the important stages of working as a higher degree student. Studying at postgraduate level is very different to undergraduate study.
