Learning and Teaching at FBE

Dr. Nacanieli Rika
Associate Dean, Learning and Teaching

FBE is committed to delivering high-quality academic programs and to equity by making its programs and courses accessible to people in the region and to the wider world. FBE provides quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Learning and teaching is one of the Universityís priority areas. Within this priority area, are 3 strategies:

  • Improve the quality of academic programs and ensure that they are highly regarded locally and internationally
  • Ensure USP programs continue to be relevant and responsive to the needs of the region and to the regionís integration into the global economy
  • Improve the quality of teaching in all campuses

In implementing these strategies the faculty formulated a learning and teaching plan to provide direction and define strategies to enhance the quality of learning and teaching and to provide high-quality student and learning experience. The faculty aims for quality and relevance.

The eight schools of the faculty have drawn from the University Strategic Plan and the faculty learning and teaching plan to formulate their own plans. These plans have assisted faculty members to think about how best to teach and how students learn.

FBE promotes a culture that values and rewards excellence in teaching.

Students come from the 12 member countries of USP whereas a few come from countries outside the region. FBE supports differences among learners and encourages the creation of a learning environment in which its diverse student population can learn and do extremely well.
